Classification computer

Classification of computers other than those I mentioned earlier, are still differentiated based on the introduction year.

The characteristics of first generation computers were as follows:

    Using a vacuum tube,
    Has very low memory,
    The size is very large,
    Requires a very high heat,
Data processing speed is very slow.

Examples of this are the first generation computer  UNIVAC 1, SEAD, G 15, SWAC, UNIAC 1.

The characteristics of second generation computers were as follows:

    Already using transistors,
    Has low memory,
The heat requirement is not too high,
Processing the data slightly faster than the first generation computers,
Physical size is smaller than the first generation computer.

Examples of this second-generation computers are IBM 1401, IBM 7090 and ILLIAC-II.

The characteristics of third generation computers are as follows:

Using the MIC (Monoloctic Iterted Circuit),
    LSI (Largem Scale Integration),
    Having more memory,
    Faster speeds,
    Physically smaller than previous-generation computers,

Examples of this third-generation computer was the IBM 390.

The characteristics of fourth generation computers are as follows:

Using the MOS (Methal Oxide Semi-Conductor)
    Memory is big enough,
Data processing speed is very fast,
    Small physical size,

Examples of fourth-generation computers are BMC, IBM, Apple.
