Defragmentation Tools in Windows 7

Defragmentation tool that is integrated in Windows has been improved. Its performance is now more accurate, just not faster. In Windows 7, Microsoft has added new functions in defragmentation tools. By default, these tools can be operated once a week and when managing files on your hard disk, he will run in the background. Tools can also be run manually. Unlike existing defragmentation tools on Vista. In Windows 7, these tools can do the defragmentation process and partition the hard disk in parallel via the control of time planer.

The way the operation has not changed much. Novice PC users will be quick and easy to understand. However, if you expect the increased speed and get more info that is presented, you will definitely feel disappointed. Info presented somewhat less complete and only displays the status info. In addition, these tools at work takes the same length with defragmentation tools available in Vista. Superiority, with its ability to recognize the meta data file system and placing it into the hard disk in the right place, this tool makes Windows 7 to work optimally. Another new thing is already able to recognize the storage medium Solid State Drive (SSD).

  1. I dont find the Win7 defragger any improvement from older versions of the windows defragger. If anything removing the GUI from the XP defragger is a step backward. Also the scheduling is not always reliable. And if thats not enough, it doesnt defragment thoroughly. On highly fragmented large drives, it could very well take ages to finish.
