Network Equipment on Linux

Hai friends 4tatc all, do not feel 3 days I lay still in bed and makes me unable to write an article. Now I've recovered and now I have written articles about the network equipment on Linux. In an Ethernet network used many tools like Hub, Bridge, Repeater, Switch, Router, and others are useful for connecting existing terminals in the network. All equipment will work with Ethernet protocol.

Protocol for the network that is currently widely used is the IEEE 802.3 Ethernet protocol. This protocol uses a mechanism called Carrier Sense Multiple Access Collision Detection (CSMA / CD).
The working principle of this protocol will transmit data while at the same time, there will be a collision or a collision. The more the terminal is in an Ethernet network then the greater the likelihood of collision.

Hub used to connect the terminals in a network, but if the terminal in the network expands, after a long time network performance will decrease because it would be a lot of collision. For that bridge built.
Ethernet networks bridge divides into multiple collision domains, the way is to divide the network into two parts so it is not too big. Communication happens on one side only on that side unless submitted data will indeed be directed to the other side of the bridge. This will reduce the burden of the network so that collisions can be reduced.

Bridge does not care that used in the network protocol (TCP / IP, IPX, AppleTalk, etc.) because the bridge operates at the level of the data link layer. This can be an advantage as well as losses. The advantage, because it works on a simple level, the bridge is able to operate at high speed, but because the bridge does not take the past data, then control of the operations did not exist. Since then emerged that his name routers.

Routers work at the level of the network layer, so it can recognize the type of protocol used in the network. Therefore, the router can use certain rules to the data through it. Because of its ability, then the router is useful for connecting networks which are used for various purposes by various organizations.
On the router, filters can be made to restrict only certain data to be entered and rejected other data. Router can be used also to pass data to a particular connection and other data to other connections in accordance with the direction the data.

With this facility, there must be a price to pay, the more detail a router to filter the data through it, and the longer the data is located in the router before being sent to its destination. The more sophisticated a router of course the price will also be more expensive.
