Chipset
Chips or chipsets are small pieces of silicon that is used to store information and computer instruction. Each computer component has at least a chip in it. The chipset on the motherboard to control the basic input and output of the computer. The chipset on the video card controls the rendering of 3D graphics and picture on the
output of your monitor.
FSB (Front Side Bus)
In the microprocessor, FSB connects the processor with main memory. In addition, is also used to communicate between the processor with other component built onto the motherboard.
HSF (Heat Sink Fan)
A CPU component that are used to absorb heat. Usually made of aluminum. Use fans as the absorber temperature will improve the performance of computer work.
IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics)
A type of hardware interface that serves to connect the hard drive, CD-ROM, and tape drives on a Personal Computer (PC). The IDE is very popular and widely used because it provides a comparatively economical way to connect the components of the hardware.
IDE Controller
One of the functions of the chipset on the motherboard, to manage communication of data on the hard disk, CD-ROM, and so forth.
LGA775
Having stood for Land Grid Array, is a type of CPU socket used by Intel in particular, where is now located in the socket pins, instead of the processor anymore. While 775 indicates the number of processor pin legs.
MicroATX
One of the terms used for this type of dimension that accommodated by the motherboard, or well casing to put the motherboard.
Northbridge
One of the two chips in the chipset that connects the processor to system memory and AGP and PCI bus. Another is the Southbridge chip.
