List of Linux Distributions

Which fall in category Linux is a big Distribus distributions that already has many users and the general distribution, some distributions are included in this category are as follows:

ASP Linux (http://www.asplinux.ru/en/)
ASP Linux is an RPM-based distributions. RPM packaging system software is Red Hat's distribution.


Conectiva Linux (http://www.conectiva.com)
Conectiva Linux distribution comes from Brazil, the last official version that I use is Conectiva Linux 9 and Conectiva Linux Enterprise Edition.

Debian GNU / Linux (http://www.debian.org)
Debian GNU / Linux is a community-based distribution that has the largest communities, now reaches version of Debian 3.0r2 (woody).

Fedora (http://fedora.redhat.com)
After Red Hat to stop support for its distribution, then Fedora was launched to replace the position of the distribution.

Gentoo Linux (http://www.gentoo.org)
This distribution is aimed at professionals in the field of networking, in distribute in the form of a new source and compiled at the time installation. At the time I got to know Gentoo Linux, Gentoo is at version 1.4, which was launched on August 5, 2003.

Mandrake Linux (http://www.linux-mandrake.com)
Distribution Mandrake is the most popular and most widely used in my country Indonesia, in its development Mandrake developing itself into another distribution of the original distribution.

SuSE Linux (http://www.suse.com)
SuSE distribution comes from Germany, currently the company that produces this distribution bought by Novell (January 12, 2004). SuSE Linux is focused on integration with KDE, Ximian and strongly supported by IBM so that this distribution is easy to integrate with IBM's hardware. Currently, this distribution has reached version 9.1 which appeared on May 11, 2004.
Turbolinux (http://www.turbolinux.com)
Turbolinux supports multiple platforms and languages Asia. On March 15, 2004 Turbolinux officially owned by Livedoor, a major ISP in Japan.
